My knowledge of Wavves does not stretch very far. That changed when frontman Nathan Williams got very drunk at Primavera festival in Spain last year. Turned out he was addicted to alcohol.

Soon after that, Black Lips got involved in a little indie spat with him. And yet, I managed to avoid Wavves’ output up to that point. But that all changed tonight when I listened to ‘Post Acid’, the first track to be taken from Wavves’ third album ‘King of The Beach’, due out in August.

Williams replaced the drummer and got in some members of the late Jay Reatard’s band to fill out the sound, and they have come up with something that could well make Black Lips jealous.
