The blog suffered during the last month. Five posts. I was busy doing a thesis, you see. But normal (ish) service should resume. So, what did I miss while I was away?

First of all, British Sea Power have recorded and released (by the time you read this, it should have been released, anyway) a new seven-track ep entitled Zeus. The title track is, as you would expect from a band who made one of the best songs of the last five years, an enlightening experience. Listen below:

One of the best songs I heard during the month was from Frankie & The Heartstrings. Initially, I thought they were just another in a long line of NME hype bands that I don’t need to listen to. But, ‘Ungrateful’ is a wonderful song. You can listen to it, via We7 (which I am trying out), below.

The track below is by a band called Tensnake, who Jim Carroll introduced me to. He also likes them

Tensnake – ‘Coma Cat’

Cymbals Eat Guitars, who made a great album Why There Are Mountains, released a new song on the world.

Cymbals Eat Guitars – ‘Wavelengths’

Closer to home, the brilliant Windings are set to release their second album at the end of the week. They made a video for ‘Old Like J’. You can watch it below. More on the album duing the week. Though you can stream it here.

And over the weekend, Kanye West was on Saturday Night Live performing some recent tracks. Follow him on Twitter now! And go here for some tracks recorded superfast by the man himself for a series he calls GOOD Fridays.

And the obligatory Villagers video. This time, he is indoors, and onstage. Recorded for State by Myles O’ Reilly. Also, did you see him cover Janelle Monae?

Ok, that was some of my favourite stuff from the past month. Hopefully the blog will be regularly updated over the coming days and weeks.
