I was just starting to wonder what was Miles Kane up to. He was one half of the side-project, Last Shadow Puppets
, with Arctic monkeys’ Alex Turner (who is doing a soundtrack for a movie at the moment), and he was also one third of The Rascals, who you may not have gotten round to hearing.

He is back, in any case, with a solo album on the way. Recorded with Dan Carey, Miles also recorded with Gruff Rhys. ‘Inhaler’ is the first track to appear from Miles on what he describes as a ‘sleazy’ record, that is ‘Gainsbourg-esque’, according to an interview with NME this week.

It is a good track, and Miles manages to sound completely different to what many people will remember from Last Shadow Puppets. It is much rawer, and with more punch than anything off that album. It also must be noted that it is built over only one riff, with not much more variation, which is slightly worrying. But in any case, enjoy ‘Inhaler’ below.

Miles Kane – ‘Inhaler’

He also revealed who will make up the Miles Kane live band: Jay Sharrock on drums (son of Beady Eye’s Chris Sharrock), two members of Cherry Ghost, and Eugene McGuiness. Exciting times ahead for all concerned.
