The new track by Allo Darlin’ started off with the uke, which immediately brought to mind Noah and The Whale’s ‘Five Years Time’. Then the voice kicked in and I thought it would be a carbon copy. But then, you let it play and you realise it is one of the best tracks of the year.

Elizabeth Morris’ voice is very easily mistakable as Laura Marling and that is not a complaint. This is a chirpy Laura, pleased with the world. ‘My Heart Is A Drummer’ is the fourth track from the band’s self-titled album, which came out earlier this year on Fortune Pop. It was one of the many albums which has passed me by this year and I am currently trying to rectify the situation.
