Miles Kane is gearing up for a solo album. You may remember him as one half of The Last Shadow Puppets with Alex Turner (who should be releasing a soundtrack soon) and, going further back, The Rascals.

You may have already seen ‘Inhaler’, the first taster of his solo work. While it introduced us to what he was into – ’60’s music, and lots of it, it didn’t prepare us for the follow-up single, ‘Come Closer’.

‘Come Closer’ takes things up a notch. It nods to classic rock, much like ‘Inhaler’ does, but it offers us more. It shows us Miles’ ear for a tune. And just imagine how great it will sound with a whole room singing back at him.

The single comes backed with a Steve Mason b-side, but isn’t out until February. Plenty time to get accustomed to it then.
