The star of 2011 so far is undoubtedly James Blake. Whether you like him or otherwise, everyone who likes music has an opinion on him. He was on Zane Lowe’s Radio One show last night, performing the epic ‘Wilhelm Scream’, which, as it turns out, is actually a cover! Who would have guessed it? His father, James Litherland, created the song. He wasn’t being shy about it though, offering Zane the chance to showcase his father’s talents. You can listen to both tracks below. And the third track of the set is a cover of a Joni Mitchell song, someone James calls “remarkable”. ‘A Case Of You’ is the final track of a spellbinding set. He also played one of the songs that has influenced him a lot, Tallest Man On Earth’s ‘Love Is All’. You can hear that song right down the bottom. Listen to all of Zane’s show here, especially if you haven’t heard that Strokes track yet.
