‘Hawaiian Air’ is going to be the soundtrack to so many people’s summer. If you haven’t heard it yet (you did see the video just up there, right?), singer Ed recites a lot of pretty terrible lines about a flight to a warmer clime: “Hawaiian notes, don’t need no pounds,” he sings at one point. It’s not the most poignant of songs, but Friendly Fires just know how to create that feel-good song. The video’s pretty good too. Must have saved all their budget for the latter half of the video though. Being in a band must be tough.

Pala is out on XL Recordings now and is rather wonderful. Though Ed should work on his lyrics.
