Howling Bells have never made the breakthrough many thought they were capable of a few years back. But they have kept plugging away and are coming back with a third (yes, third) album in the autumn. ‘The Loudest Engine’ is the first track from the self-titled album that was produced by the bassist from The Killers, Mark Stoermer. The song goes through a number of phases and indulges in some garage rock sensibilities, which The Black Keys made cool again. So maybe Howling Bells’, who hail from Australia, breakthrough is just around the corner. Time will tell. Stream ‘The Loudest Engine’ below.
