Busy day of news yesterday for Limerick band Windings yesterday. First of all, there’s a video for ‘The Space I Occupy’, which will form one half of a 7″ single that will be released on Out On A Limb next week. Also featured will be ‘The Hassle’. I think that single pretty much defines Windings as a band. Some groups stick to the Pixies’ raison d’etre of quiet verse, load chorus. Windings do quiet song, loud song. They’re like a 2-for-1 band. The five-piece have also announced plans to record a follow-up to 2010’s excellent It’s Never Night LP. They want to record it in Montreal with Godspeed You Black Emperor!’s Efrim Menuck. To help them achieve this they need your help and so have announced a Fund It campaign. I didn’t need to be asked twice to contribute and neither should you. More here.
