kasper rosa icebreaker cover large

Together since 2008, Belfast’s Kasper Rosa have crafted a number of singles and EPs over the years and show no sign of letting the quality drop. You can listen to everything over at their Bandcamp page, from first single ‘First Breath, First Blood’ right through to this week’s new double A-side single. Clocking in just shy of 15 minutes, the four piece keep the excitement levels high, particularly on ‘The Fires of Great Ships’, which takes a number of turns, all of which are exhilarating and will leave you panting for more. I think it’s good they’re taking their time in releasing an album. Kasper Rosa’s sound has obviously advanced over the past 18 months. They’re a little heavier, a little tighter, that bit more intricate than they were on the first single from September 2011. They’re launching the single in Belfast tomorrow night (Facebook event) and play the Workman’s Club in Dublin on Friday. They’ve promised a pretty extensive tour including a Cork date on April 9.
