indiependence

It didn’t help that I saw the Glastonbury lineup a minute before I saw what Indiependence had to offer. Unlucky timing, I guess. We knew beforehand that Bastille and Kodaline were already playing Indiependence, held in Mitchelstown, Co Cork, and now we know who’ll be joining them. And it’s hard to get excited about it, particularly when I had heard more than a few rumours that Biffy Clyro would be coming… Sargent House is curating a stage at Indiependence, with ASIWYFA the biggest draw. The full lineup is after the jump. The festival takes place from Friday, August 2-Sunday, August 4. Tickets are a reasonable €79 without camping, and €99 with camping. You can get them here. Press release: “In addition to the music, this year sees three brand new indoor areas at the festival. The Bier Halle will feature a full craft bar, a games area and a wonderfully intimate indoor stage. INDIEPENDENCE also introduces the polar opposite Darkness & Light arenas. While Darkness resembles the beginning of the apocalypse where only new bands remain and the darker side of burlesque comes out at night, Light is where the shinier, happier people reside containing the new Hot Press Hot Spot, spoken word, the silent disco, family activities and the live broadcast centre for INDIEPENDENCE Festival favourites, Today FM.”
