Enemies were in the Pavilion in Cork on Saturday night, May 18, to showcase new album Embark, Embrace. Their last gig in the city, as they acknowledge tonight, was in Cyprus Avenue on a Sunday a couple of months ago and there were only a handful of people there. It’s better in the Pavilion, but it still feels that too many people are missing out on the Wicklow band. ‘Indian Summer’ is one of my favourite tracks of the last year and there are plenty more that they pull out to keep everyone here entertained. Enemies were supported by local band Former Monarchs, who promise that an album should be on the way in September. About time – I can’t wait to hear more from them. All pictures by Brid O’Donovan.
