Body & soul

The final few acts have been announced for Body & Soul, which takes place in Ballinlough Castle, Co Westmeath, on June 21-23. Daithí, who last week revealed his new single ‘Chameleon Life’, and Overhead, the Albatross are among the Irish faces added to the festival. I said a couple weeks ago that Daithí should be added to every festival, and play as late as possible because he’s just so much fun. Overhead, the Albatross should blow everybody away, too. German DJ Michael Mayer, Candice Gordon, Aindrias De Staic and The Bahh Band have also been added to the festival, which I’m hoping to get to for the first time this year. Nick Cave, Solange and Kurt Vile are headlining the event, all of whom I saw at Primavera the other week (*humble brag*) but who I can’t wait to see again. Solange in particular felt pretty special. Three-day camping tickets for Body & Soul 2013 cost €139 and are available here.

Meanwhile, the National play Live at the Marquee in Cork on Friday, June 28, and have today announced the mighty Tall Ships as support. Tickets are all sold out for the gig, which should be pretty special.
