Cork metal band Altar of Plagues have released one of my favourite albums of the year, Teethed Glory and Injury. I’m not the biggest metal fan in the world, but that record is just too exciting to ignore, a blast of energy and innovation. I don’t think they’ve played any accompanying dates in Ireland for the album, but that changes next month. Altar of Plagues play Whelan’s in Dublin on Thursday, July 18. Tickets are €12 and available here. The following day, Friday, July 19, Altar of Plagues return to Cork for a hometown show in the Triskel. Tickets are €10 and will be available from Plugd. The band say these shows are going to be their only Irish gigs of the year, so not to be missed.
