Coughlan’s Bar in Cork City is planning a pretty great musical extravaganza for September 26-30. Plainly called the Coughlan’s Live Music Festival 2013, the name doesn’t do it justice. Over the course of the four days we’ll see Lisa Hannigan take to the stage – her first gig in Cork for ages; could she have a new album in tow, too? Cathy Davey has also been away for far too long so hopefully she’ll be bringing some new material to the pub on Douglas Street. Fred, are playing the festival – they were today announced as support to the Boomtown Rats at the Marquee this Friday, July 5. The full lineup is below. Coughlan’s has a capacity of 60, so I think these gigs are going to be pretty special. Tickets go on sale Friday, July 12. There will be two shows on the Saturday and Sunday of the festival (afternoon and evening) along with free late night entertainment from bands like O Emperor, Fred, John Blek & The Rats and The Hard Ground.
All tickets go on sale Friday, July 12, from and Coughlan’s Bar. Ticket prices vary for each show (€17.50-€20)
