Girls Names released their next-level album The New Life in February, winning praise from all corners. Now the Belfast four piece are planning a remix EP, entitled The Next Life. ‘Projektions’ is the first taster of what to expect from the EP. It’s in the safe hands of Factory Floor’s Gabe Gurnsey, who has stripped it of guitars and turned it into a pulsing, minimal and percussive house number. And it sounds class. I think Factory Floor can do no wrong, and can’t wait to hear their debut album later in the year. This remix is just a reminder of their talent. Other contributors to The Next Life include David Holmes, Locust, The Soft Walls and Optimo. It will be released later this year on Tough Love (Europe) and Slumberland (US). Girls Names play Castlepalooza on August 4.
