Little Xs For Eyes have been busy working on their second album in recent months, the follow-up to SAD, which is almost two years old. They’ve been keeping a diary of the recording process for the G-Man blog . ‘Summer Stay’ is the first taste of their second album, due for release early next year. It’s a joyous ode to the sun and summer, obviously, with Bennie pleading for autumn to just stay away for another little bit. It’s twee in the best sense of the word, an uncool, simple, singularly minded five minutes, in which they tell us they never got their washing dry. It’s typically Irish too, actually writing a song about the weather, moaning that the good weather never sticks around longer than one day. You can download the single, which is backed with a cover of ‘Bette Davis Eyes’ below, on a name-your-price basis. You can watch a video for the track here.
