Fresh from supporting the Boomtown Rats over the weekend, the Mighty Stef have unveiled a new song and video, ‘Vampire, Hold Me Tight’. The track features on the Iveagh Flats EP that they’re releasing on November 7. It’s the first taster of their fourth album, which they recorded in Los Angeles with Alain Johannes (Qotsa). ‘Vampire, Hold Me Tight’, the Might Stef say, “was written in the wake of the death of a friend and in advance of some challenging times for the band”. It’s typically driving stuff, and a track you can imagine plenty people passionately shouting back at the band. The video was directed by Lindsey Byrne, and features the band playing in front of a projection of a film that I can’t quite place (any ideas?). The three-track Iveagh Flats EP will only be released on 500 12″ vinyl records on November 7. You can pre-order your copy here. Nialler9 is premiering the EP on Thursday. The Mighty Stef play upstairs at Whelan’s on November 7, 21, and December 5.
