I like what I’ve heard so far from Meltybrains?. The five piece from Dublin have gone a little darker for the video to new track ‘Light Snow’. Things are heavier, both in subject matter and sound. After a long, slow intro, ‘Light Snow’ gets dipper in sludge, with James Blake-esque distorted croons heightening in tension throughout, becoming howls for help, as end-of-the-world drumming gather pace. Meltybrains? are hoping to tour the US in the new year, so have begun a Fund It campaign to help them get over there. With 16 days to go, they’re over halfway to their €2,000 goal. You can contribute here. Rewards include the band having tea with your granny, a tour of Dublin, and Meltybrains? making a song with your choice of content. The five piece will be playing some Irish dates before they leave for America though, and play a free show in the Pavilion in Cork on Thursday, December 5. The video for ‘Light Snow’ was filmed by Cian Brennan.
