Elastic Sleep launched their new single, a cover of Nancy Sinatra’s ‘You Only Live Twice’, at the Pavilion on Saturday night. It topped off what’s been a great year for the band, who only released their debut single ‘Anywhere’, which opened the show on Saturday, in June. From there, the show mixed the best of shoegaze, dream pop and My Bloody Valentine guitars – Brendan Riordan and bassist Ruairi Dale looked like they’re having the time of their lives, every song seemingly being played harder and harder. Muireann Levis’s vocals, as ever, shone high over the wall of sound, particularly on the aforementioned cover. Completed by Chris Somers on guitar/vocals and Dan Walsh on drums, Elastic Sleep looked and sounded like they enjoyed their first headline slot upstairs in the Pavilion. They release ‘Leave You’ on 7″ with Fifa Records early next year. All pictures after the jump by Brid O’Donovan.
