Ten Past Seven frontman Rory Francis O’Brien is releasing an eight-track live recording on Cork-based label Art for Blind this Saturday. Entitled The Eve of the Ides of March, it was recorded at Fred Zeppelin’s in March and offers a different look at the singer (unless you’ve already seen him play solo), who is joined on guitar duties by James Fortune. Art for Blind explains: “In the summer of 2013 ourselves and Rory came together with a plan to create a physical release of the live recording. The result is a cassette run of the recording limited to 100 copies, including digital download and housed in a hand screenprinted sleeve (printed locally at Cork Community PrintShop with artwork by Rory himself).” You can preorder the release here or you can pick it up at a market being held at the printshop this weekend. (DOI: Brid O’Donovan who takes photos for the blog will be selling some limited prints of her work there too, and I’ll be pottering about as well). ‘Burning White Dove’ offers a taster of what you should expect.
