65daysofstatic played a few dates in Ireland last week, including Dolan’s Warehouse in Limerick on Thursday, January 16, where they were supported by C!ties. The three-piece reformed especially for the support slot as 65days were one of their biggest influences. It was their first gig in about two years so maybe it shouldn’t have been surprising that the venue was packed for them at 9.15pm on the button. And they were great, a couple of mistakes here and there but with the likes of ‘Satellite’ and ‘Krakotoa’ reminding everybody just how sorely missed they are. 65daysofstatic had the enviable task of playing over one of the more chat-heavy crowds I’ve experienced in a while. Even when they implore silence to greet a particularly quiet, piano intro, the crowd still murmured on. They said it was their first time in Limerick, and though they added that it was fun, you’d be surprised if the city was on their next Irish tour schedule. All pictures by BrĂd O’Donovan.
