Dublin duo Ian McDonnell, aka Eomac, and Dara Smith are Lakker and are among the most prolific producers in the country, with new singles and EPs cropping up every couple of months alongside numerous, quality mixes. Lakker are upping the ante this year, with their first 12″ of the year (I expect at least a couple more before the end of 2014) coming out on the acclaimed Belgian label R&S, responsible for early James Blake singles among so much more quality output. The EP is entitled Containing A Thousand, though it doesn’t go into specifics. Pitchfork has premiered ‘K’antu’, off the record’s ‘silver side’. It’s a throbbing, densely layered six minutes that drifts in and out. The Containing a Thousand EP is out in early March on R&S.
