Cork band the Shaker Hymn follow-up the ‘Hunter and the Huntsman‘ single with a similarly growling effort in ‘The Runaway’. Skittish drums make way for classic rock style strikes of guitar with Caoilian Sherlock saying he would like to run away: “Would you please come with me, I never thought I’d say this, you’re the one I love.” A chorus rouses the singer from his musings however, saying nothing will change. Presumably he’s figuring this all out while in a lonely, empty room as pictured in the cover art above. Completed by Robbie Barron, Shane Murphy and Donal Linehan, the Shaker Hymn release ‘The Runaway’ at the end of February. It’s the second single to be taken from their forthcoming debut album, Rascal’s Antique (which still has no release date – boo!).
