O Emperor played their biggest headline event to date last Friday, March 7, when the Waterford band took over the Cork Opera House. Fresh from their Choice Prize shortlisting for second album Vitreous, they put on what was by all accounts a rollicking show. Interesting fact: I don’t think I’ve ever seen O Emperor live – ever! Surgery recovery meant I had to reluctantly stay at home on Friday even though it was a seated gig – the clapping would hurt me *ahem*. O Emperor had Altered Hours, who are releasing a new video this week, on support duty. BrĂd O’Donovan was there to capture all the action.
