Cork band the Vincent(s) are releasing a new double A-side single this Friday, March 14, as well as embarking on a tour in support. ‘Throne Song’ continues where the group left off with the Valley of the Sun EP last year: its dark atmospherics meander around Magnus Allen’s Celtic drawl, which is itself punctuated by his catcalls and screams. “I want to see you again,” he declares – but he’s not exactly Brad Pitt – soon, Allen is saying that he falls asleep at the wheel. And things soon turn awry: “What is it that you want from me? What is it that I’ve got to give? You found a way inside of me and you keep pushing me.” We don’t seem to get any resolution, or any idea of what happens next, as the Vincent(s) fade to black. Maybe there’ll be some answers at their live shows in support of the single, out on Fifa Records. Tour dates are after the jump.
