London band Palma Violets have picked up plenty of plaudits since they formed a couple of years back. Debut album 180 was released on Rough Trade and got people very excited for its strangled guitars, elements of Joe Strummer and the Clash, and most importantly, because some of the songs are choons in every sense of the word. Ireland will get to see what the hype is about early in April as Palma Violets play five dates around the country.

Palma Violets Irish tour dates:
Sunday, April 6: Dolan’s Warehouse, Limerick;
Monday, April 7: Voodoo, Belfast;
Tuesday, April 8: Workman’s Club, Dublin; Wednesday, April 9: Roisin Dubh, Galway;
Friday, April 11: Cyprus Avenue, Cork.

Tickets for the Cork date are €12.50 and can be purchased in the Old Oak.
