As festival season kicks into gear (Electric Picnic announces its lineup tomorrow, Wednesday, at noon; Beck, Portishead and Outkast, anybody? And Indiependence in Mitchelstown, Cork, reveals its first names on Thursday evening), you can almost hear Daithí packing his violin, synths and wellies readying for a busy few months. Because rest assured, he will probably own most of the events! ‘Have To Go’, produced by Ian ‘Young Wonder’ Ring, follows ‘Chameleon Life‘ and ‘Case Closed‘, though it bucks the trend by going for male vocals, courtesy of New York singer Jesse Boykins III. Otherwise it’s what you’ve danced to over the past year from Daithí: a fun house track. It’s a little smoother than the aforementioned singles though, with the vocals happy to relax rather than aim to soar as high as Raye and Senita. You can purchase ‘Have To Go’ now, via iTunes. Daithí plays the Button Factory this Friday, March 21.
