Katie Kim called the crowd that sold out the TDC on Saturday night, March 15, probably the best audience she’d ever had. Barely a word was whispered by the 100 or so people that had crammed into the room for Kim’s first show in the city in a long time. Simply strumming and occasionally finger-picking an electric guitar (that she borrowed from Aisling Morning Veils), Kim put on a mesmerising performance, though a little on the short side. Opening band Morning Veils, completed by Elaine from Altered Hours and Ros from the sadly not defunct Saint Yorda) offered up some gentle acoustic songs that lulled everybody in, but then snapped them out of it with a Krautrock closer that was easily the loudest song played by either act.
