Former Altar of Plagues frontman James Kelly is back with his first new material as WIFE since the Stoic EP late in 2012. He’s since signed to Tri Angle Records, home to the likes of Evian Christ and Vessel, and is set to release his debut LP What’s Between on June 10. It was produced by WIFE, the Haxan Cloak, lie and Roly Porter, and ‘Heart Is A Far Light’ is out first taster of it. Over a cult-like mantra, Kelly sings about “filling up a space between ourselves”. All he had is over now, and there is no reconciliation to be had: “Sun, a place we made but then you broke it,” he concludes. It’s a beautiful atmospheric track that acts as a great introduction of what is sure to be a fascinating album.
