Dublin duo Bad Sea, Ciara Thompson and Alan Farrell, recently unveiled their debut single, ‘Solid Air’. They wrote on Facebook: “This song means the world to us and we are so excited to be sharing it with you today.” Over a louche and linguid backdrop, Thompson declares that when she was younger, “I was beautiful and blonde, and I had better men.” This debut track also contains one of the most withering lines you’re likely to come across: “You make yourself king who carries worlds across his shoulders you’re only just a man, you’re not even very strong.” Take that! The song is just over three minutes, but channelling the likes of Tennis, I’m looking forward to hearing a lot more from Bad Sea – I don’t think they have any gigs lined up any time soon but keep an eye out.
