The Point of Everything began in January 2010. After a pluttering start, it covers a range of genres and mostly features Irish bands at various stages of their development. Regularly updated, usually a number of posts a day, it offers just a glance of the talent that is on offer in Ireland.
It’s run by one person, Eoghan O’Sullivan. I’m a Cork-based blogger and work as a subeditor for the Irish Examiner, to which I’m also a contributor. I’ve written for various websites in Ireland including Drop-D and We Are Noise. I was also involved in the sadly now defunct De/Code magazine, a cultural magazine. I started out on Cork Campus Radio, UCC’s radio station, going on to complete a journalism MA at the University of Limerick. Since starting the Point of Everything I’ve had the chance to put on gigs in Limerick, Cork and Dublin, and also featured on a panel at the 2012 Hard Working Class Heroes Festival, the video of which you can see below.
If you’re in a band feel free to send me your music. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org. I also spend too much time on Twitter so feel free to chat to me there: @TPOEBlog. And here’s the obligatory Facebook page.
